The Founder and Owner

Gloria Potts has been a registered nurse for over 30 years.  She received her nursing education at St. Vincent's Hospital School of Nursing and Mary Manse Catholic College in Toledo, Ohio.  In addition, she completed two years of course work in Healthcare Administration at the University of Toledo.  During her 20 years of employment at St.Vincent's Hospital, she gained experience in Cardiology, Vascular Surgery, Burn and Reconstructive Surgery, Orthopedics and Rehabilitative Medicine.

After relocating to Atlanta, Georgia with her family, Gloria worked for the American Red Cross Blood Services for several years and then joined Kaiser-Permanente in 1999, working in their Podiatry department for over 10 years.  While in Podiatry, Gloria completed the Medical University of South Carolina's (MUSC) Foot and Nail Care Course for RN's, gained extensive knowledge from the Podiatrists, and became a CFCN (Certified Foot and Nail Care Nurse) after passing her boards in 2008 and again in 2013.  Certification provides validation of specialized knowledge, skills and expertise of an experienced nurse.  WOCNCB (certification board) adheres to strict standards of quality and is a National organization.

It became apparent while working in Podiatry that foot care is a grossly underserved area in healthcare, in spite of the impact it has on one's health(falls, pain, infections and decreased mobility).  While doing research, Gloria learned the a Foot Care Nurse could work independently under the guidelines of Georgia's Nursing Board, making sure that the work performed stays within the scope of nursing practice.  This led to the creation of Gloria Potts Feet First, LLC in September 2013.
